Morning Smiles

This is what happens when I leave the kids for a few minutes while they're eating breakfast.

They create "food art."

Turkey bacon, hard boiled egg, almond, banana.

Morning smiles.

Thank You

On behalf of the entire family, thank you so much for the cards, flowers, phone calls, emails and expressions of sympathy.

We have especially appreciated your prayers. God's grace and mercy has surrounded us in a tangible way these past few weeks. He is so faithful.

I hope to resume regular blogging in a couple of days.

Love you all!

Please Pray

Today is Dad's funeral. Tomorrow is the burial.

Please pray that God would be glorified and that His name would be lifted up.

Thank you!

Farewell, Grandpa

I write this with great sorrow. Alan's Dad passed away yesterday afternoon. Though his health had been deteriorating over the previous months, his death was still an unexpected shock to the family. It's hard to believe he's gone.

We have been flooded with a myriad of memories and emotions. Dad was a good man who deeply loved his family. He will be greatly missed. We are especially thankful that Alan was able to spend two weeks with his Dad in December. The kids were also able to see him last April. They still remember and talk about Grandpa.

Thank you so much for your ongoing prayers and support for our family. We are grateful for God's strength, comfort and peace in our time of grief.

Happy Birthday, Daniel!

"Now We Are Six"

When I was one I'd just begun,
When I was two I was nearly new,
When I was three I was hardly me,
When I was four I was not much more,
When I was five I was barely alive,
But now I am six!
As clever as clever!
And I think I'll stay six now for ever and ever!

~A. A. Milne

Dearest Daniel,

Happy Birthday to my sweet little boy who is not so little any more.

Mommy always tells you she wants to stick you in the freezer so you will stop growing.

But the trouble is, I can't decide at what age I should do this.

Every year you get more and more charming. Smarter and smarter. And funnier and funnier.

It's quite a dilemma. What am I to do?

I think I will have to wait another year to decide.

Happy 6 years old, Daniel Spaniel! I love you!
