A Field Trip to Legoland

Yesterday, as a belated birthday treat for Daniel, we took the kids to Legoland for the monthly Homeschool Day. This was a day for hands-on learning and just plain ole' fun!

A math lesson: On the drive down, count how many times you ask, "Are we there yet?" before your parents go crazy.

A marketing lesson: Legoland execs know that a hefty discount on the admission price will draw homeschoolers from hundreds of miles away. They know that homeschoolers love Lego for educational applications. They also know that once we're in the park we're likely to spend a small fortune on kits we can use for school. They are marketing geniuses. :-)

A grammar lesson: Lego is the plural of Lego.

The park was filled with magnificent Lego creations:

Lego Dinosaur

Lego Dalmation

Lego Monkeys

Giant Bionicle

There were the fun rides:

Driving School

Flight Squadron

Spinning Bionicle Blaster

The highlight of the day?

Building Lego.

Never let it be said that learning can't be fun!

"A merry heart does good, like medicine." Proverbs 17:22
