Summer Reading

"Jonathan, what are you reading?"

"The dictionary."

"The dictionary?"

"Yeah."

"What about the library books?"

"Read 'em."

"What about the books Grandpa sent?"

"Read 'em."

"What about your history reading?"

"Read 'em."

(pause)

"I like reading the dictionary."

"Ohhh...kay."

"Mom, am I a geek?"

(pause)

"I think I'm a geek."

(grin slowly spreading across his face...)

"Hey, I'm a geek...just like Daddy!"
