When Dad announces nonchalantly that it's camping night, hooting and hollering erupts throughout the house. Our feet run to help him set up the tent, then run to gather favorite blankets and pillows.
Dinner is a blur because all we can think about is camping. It seems the sun will never go down! After a warm bath, teeth brushing and the reading of the last chapter of Pagoo, it is time to head out to our beloved tent.
Dad usually reads aloud his Bible in the tent using a flashlight. We think it's a special treat and try to listen very carefully. Shadow pokes her head in the door to say goodnight, but she fancies herself a princess and would rather sleep in the house. As prayers are offered we snuggle happily under cozy blankets. We're sleeping under the stars tonight!
