Book Haul

Nothing beats going to our library's used book sale. Nothing. Not even chocolate.

I went early; I went prepared. I brought my rolling suitcase, and it's a good thing I did. I came home with a huge haul--over 40 books!

All these books for $23.20!

For Jonathan, I found books on Abraham Lincoln, space exploration and yo-yo's. For Elizabeth, there were books on nature, poetry and manners. Daniel scored books on firefighters, the alphabet and a video on otters. We added to our homeschool library books for our geography unit study, American History for next year, Science, Literature, Crafts and even a book of math poems. (If anyone is interested, I'll post titles.)

My golden find of the day was a book that has been on my Amazon wish list for months--Japanese Children's Favorite Stories. I bought it in like new condition for just fifty cents. Thank You, Lord! I can't wait to read aloud stories from my childhood like Momotaro ("The Peach Boy") and The Crab and the Monkey.

A childhood favorite.

Enjoying the fruit of our labor.

My wish list is still alive and well, thanks to Rebecca's cool post on the Top 100 Children's Books.

Guess it's time to add another bookcase!
