Sushi and Turkish Delight

Thank you, all, for the wonderful Anniversary Blessings! We went out for Sushi and Turkish Delight. Yes, we finally saw Narnia! What an absolute treat it was for the eyes and for the spirit! Both Alan and I were in awe of how everything came together seamlessly for this movie--the acting, the cinematography, the digital effects, everything. It was nearly perfect.

My favorite scene? Peter's cry as he was about to enter battle: "For Narnia! And for Aslan!" It echoed the battle cry of my soul.

I haven't had time to hunt for the wedding photos, but I was reassured to remember that we have a few photos displayed around our home. They are either too HUGE to scan or in tiny frames that can't be taken apart, however, so I won't be able to post any yet. I like Donna's idea to take photos on each anniversary. Alan said he's game. So perhaps next year we'll start a new tradition.

The other day Alan and I were talking about different foods we learned to enjoy only after we met. (We talk about food a lot; it's a Hawaiian thing.) Alan said he never liked Split Pea Soup prior to meeting me. Or Lasagna. Or Salads. Before Alan, I didn't eat a lot of Vanilla Ice Cream. Or Chocolate Chip Cookies. Nor was I a big Oatmeal fan. It's funny how marriage can change even your tastebuds.

Speaking of Oatmeal, did you know that January is National Oatmeal Month? Yes, it's true! We've been eating a lot of it recently. :-) Thought I'd post some of our favorite Oatmeal recipes. Hope you enjoy them!

Mrs. Beaver: "You've been sneaking second helpings, haven't you?
Mr. Beaver: "Well, you never know if your next meal's going to be your last. Especially with your cooking.

"The living God...gives us richly all things to enjoy." 1 Timothy 6:17
