The Birthday Girl in Hawaii

Dawn asked about the previous post..."and the costume?"

We had an early birthday celebration for both kids at the Zoo, and just for fun--because she's that kind of girl--Elizabeth decided to dress up in a leopard costume for the occasion. She hammed it up a bit and then announced that they might mistake her for a real leopard and put her in a cage so she'd better change to regular clothes. :-)

Elizabeth spent her actual birthday in two states, California in the morning and Hawaii in the afternoon. When we arrived at Honolulu airport, Grandpa surprised her with a lovely haku lei.

Sweetie,

You are the sunshine on Ala Moana beach, the spices in my Zippy's chili and the perfume of a pikake lei. Your presence brings warmth and light, a kick of flavor and a sweet fragrance to my days.

God has given you the gift of joy and delight and creativity. He has a special vision for your life. Find it and follow Him. He is good, and He is wise.

Aloha, makamae kaikamahine. I love you, precious daughter!

  1. What a lovely birthday girl! Linda, thank you for all of the camera information...I forwarded it to my husband for him to research some more!

In September, we were in Honolulu for one night. We stayed at the Ilikai and went to Pearl Harbor.
