Four words: Ruptured ovarian cyst. Ouch!
I'm not sure what was worst--the pain or the pain meds they gave me in the hospital. It made my head wacky; the room moved and I almost fell off the bed, but thankfully the ultrasound tech caught me in time. Even after I was released I had a rough time walking steadily. I was quite a wobbly girl.
The next day our two dogs had an appointment with their vet. I would have cancelled it because I still wasn't feeling well but our vet is so popular that the receptionist said if we didn't take the time slot she would list it on ebay. So we took the furry gals in.
We told her that 7 month old Nutmeg was doing well but we were concerned because she had been walking strangely the last two weeks. Her front legs do the right moves but her back legs are....wobbly. She takes teeny tiny steps with her back legs to keep up with her front legs and they look like they are doing double time. Alan calls her "geisha girl" and sometimes she looks very comical. Other times it's sad to watch her take a few steps then sit down right away to rest.
So an x-ray was ordered and the diagnosis came back: hip dysplasia. Both Alan and I groaned at the same time. If there is any good news it is that we caught it early and can hopefully prevent her from painful degenerative arthritis. We were referred to an orthopedic surgeon. It looks like Nutmeg will have to undergo surgery soon.

Wobbly girl takes a rest.
Despite these trials, I will rest on one sure thing. No matter how wobbly my steps, I can lean on God's everlasting arms. He is faithful to walk beside me and guide me down the path He has set before me. He will never leave me or forsake me. As the hymn says, He is my solid Rock.
My hope is built on nothing less,Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name.
On Christ the solid Rock I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
All other ground is sinking sand.
"The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." Psalm 18:2
