I could focus on how things are not going as planned or the mud Shadow is tracking in or the mountain of laundry or the books that haven't found their way to the bookshelves yet and are instead scattered everywhere.
Or I could look out the window and see in the pouring rain whispers of God's promises.
"For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring; they will spring up among the grass like willows by the watercourses" (Isaiah 44:3-4).
"Rain down, you heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness; let the earth open, let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together. I, the Lord, have created it" (Isaiah 45:8).
God is so good!
Thank You, Lord, for pouring living water on my thirst and floods on my dry heart. Thank You for pouring out Your strength in my weakness. Thank You for pouring out Your righteousness and grace and mercy and untold blessings on an undeserving Mom like me. Thank You for setting my eyes on the things above and not on the things below. In the precious name of Jesus, amen.
