My Birthday Prayer
Precious Lord, thank you for the gift of another year. Another year of witnessing Your goodness and of learning that Your ways are better and higher than mine. When I look into the eyes of Alan and the kids, our families and the dear friends You've brought into our lives, my heart wells up with thanksgiving and praise to You. It seemed we waited forever for children, but then one day You decided to open the windows of heaven and let it rain. You poured out Your blessings on us, and they haven't stopped. Every day, I jump in puddles!
I have seen You work in the most unexpected hearts.
Lord, You are amazing.
I have felt You pick me up when I've been flat on the floor.
Lord, You are gracious.
I have been guided down unfamiliar paths with Your hand firmly in mine. Lord, You are trustworthy.
I have seen daily reminders that You are with me and for me.
Lord, You are faithful.
I have heard the heartfelt prayers of my children.
Lord, You are sweet.
I have experienced Your forgiveness over and over again because of the sacrifice of Your Son. Lord, You are merciful.
How can I thank You? Mere words can't express my gratitude. I could never thank You enough for who You are and for what You have done for us.
Lord, may the year ahead bring more opportunities to serve You. Please let my words and actions bring You honor and glory; not to me, Lord, only to You. Let my posture be low so that Your name is lifted high. As Your daughter, I want only to be well pleasing in Your sight. I love You, Lord. Thank You for making every day a birthday, filled with new beginnings and hope and joy.
In Jesus' precious name,
Amen.
"I will sing to the Lord as long as I live. I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. May my meditation be sweet to Him; I will be glad in the Lord." Psalm 104:33-34
