I think I'm birthday-ed out for a while.
It is finally beginning to feel like autumn here! There's a nip in the air; the forecast is for rain, rain and more rain; we've got our jackets on; and I'm starting to notice trees again. Perfect weather for a tree poem.
Maple Shoot in the Pumpkin Patch
Remember me?
I helicoptered past
your kitchen window last fall,
then hovered over the pumpkin patch.
I had traveled far on the wind that day,
spinning the whole entire way.
I really hadn't planned to stay,
only wanted to look around,
lay my dizziness down,
rest a moment on the ground.
No wind came to carry me aloft,
the dirt was sweet and soft--
I guess
I must
have
dozed
off...

Speaking of spinning things, I have been toying with Elizabeth's Spirograph. Remember those? As the chorus to the Les Miserables song echoes through my mind, "turning, turning, turning through the years...," I watch my pen twirl around and around the gears. You ought to try it; it's very relaxing!
My brain before coffee.
My brain after coffee.

"A joyful heart is good medicine." Proverbs 17:22

The Spirograph pictures made me smile! : ) How about contentment?

No suggestions, but could I get an autographed copy of "My Brain After Coffee"? It would have a lovely spot of honor right by the computer desk! :-)
